And do we not accept them anyway, even when they dont? I think they teach us as much as we teach them. Loyalty, unconditional love, die-for-you-if-necessary protection....but also, how to deal with stubborness, muddy feet, injuries, illness and death....how to master, and be mastered. How to give....(do I WANT to get up at 6 a.m. on Saturday and let them out? NO....do I DO it? YES....) I have said this before. I think God gave us dogs to teach us how to be better people.
