Guest Anonymous
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on Saint Bernards. I am very inexperienced about the breed. I am trying to learn everything I can about the breed. I do have an appointment with my vet tomorrow... but S. Bernards are not often seen around my area so I am trying to learn what I can on my own. If anyone who owns Saints or knows about them could give me any information I would be greatly appreciative. I do have a couple of books about Saints on order but I know that books don't hold a candle to actual experience and knowledge. So... thanks in advance for all your help. Guest Anonymous
Specific questions would be mainly about nutrional needs. I know that some giant breeds have specific protein requirements (ex. 21% or less). I'm wondering if Saints are the same way. I'm trying to find a good kibble for my little (for the time being) guy. I know that he doesn't need to eat the same food as my other two puppies, but I'm at a loss as to what food would be best. I'm also wondering about how much and often he should be eating. My other puppies eat twice a day. But should Bentley eat three times a day because he's so young and/or because of bloat (which I know is a possible problem in large dogs). tishtash
Breed Classification :St Bernards belong to the pastoral group and their true function is search and rescue work. They make excellent family pets and, of course, are admired in the show-ring. Average Food Cost :
