Guest Anonymous
I read somewhere that there are around 80 types of Mastiff but the ones I have heard of are: Old English Mastiff Bullmastiff Tibetan Mastiff (Do Khyl Tsang Khyl) Alpine Mastiff (St Bernard) French Mastiff (Dogue De Bordeaux) Italian Mastiff (Neopolitan Mastiff) Sicilian Mastiff (Cane Corso) Danish Mastiff (Broholmer) Spanish Mastiff (Mastin Espanol) Pyrenean Mastiff (El Mastin del Pirineo) Brazilian Mastiff (Fila Brasileiro) Argentinian Mastiff (Dogo Argentino) Puerto Rican Mastiff (Gran Mastin De Borinquen) German Mastiff (Great Dane) Japanese Mastiff (Japanese Tosa) Dutch Mastiff (extinct?) Mastino Abruzzese Moscow Mastiff Chinese Mastiff (Shan Mastiff) Indian Mastiff (Sindh Mastiff) American Bandogge Mastiff (not a recognised breed) American Mastiff (Panja) (not a recognised breed) American Mastiff (Flying W) (not a recognised breed) Belgian Mastiff (extinct?) Nebolish Mastiff (only recognised by the CKC) A few of the Mastiff's mentioned are extinct, and are not recognised by any KC which I have pointed out at the side of the ones I am refering to. Some of them are also very rare and it is quite hard to find any information on them. Being a keen enthusiast of the Mastiff and Molosser breeds this is where I have gained the knowledge of the Mastiff breeds by reading upon them and finding out information about them. Guest Anonymous
You left out a lot of mastiff type breeds too :-) Danes Boxers Pugs (yep pugs!) Newfoundlands St Bernards etc I do wish people would not believe the mill breeding lists though I mean really! citing ContKC as a source is like citing the National Enquirer as a source for a list of aliens living here among us
