I'm a Pekingese! No bones about it, you're a trendy, A-list Pekingese. Classy and fashionable, you love to be admired. Sure, that means you can be a bit high-maintenance at times, but you're worth it, right? You shine brightest in the company of other chic, well-groomed doggies like yourself

To answer the question Nadooshkinz asked if anyone trained their dogs to poop in 1 spot. We did. We also trained them to poop and pee on command. It took alot of time and hard work, but it is worth it. We just have to say " Get Busy " and the dogs know what to do next. We clean the yard after every bathroom break which is 3 times a day. The morning is my boyfriend, after school is my son and after diner is me. YUCK!! :grab: 3 big dogs equals 3 big loads

What to do with 2 Dominant Bitches? HELP!
xavierandrea replied to xavierandrea's topic in Everything about dogs
 I have to admit I do not like the idea of the hooks. Ever since the fight that caused the bloodshed I have been watching my girls like a hawk. Even at the slightest sign of a fight breaking loose I place them in their crates which are in seperate rooms. I did noticed that Patti is trying to avoid Free these past few days since the incident. When I leave for work I place 1 of the girls on the front porch ( it is an inclosed front porch ) We fixed it up just for them. I call it the dogs room. I'm still waiting for a call from Free's trainer. I will also go ahead a talk to her breeder for more sugestions. I agree with everything that you all suggested. Thank you all so, so, so much. I knew that I came to the right place for help. You guys are just the greatest! I love this place. It is my 2nd home. :D -
:( I feel for you. When I had to leave my Free overnight at the vet for xrays I cried all night even my son cried. I kept calling the vet asking if she was ok and did she look sad. The 2nd time she stayed overnight I was worst!!! I couldn't eat or watch TV. I kept talking to the other dogs. " Do you miss sissy. I know you miss sissy. She'll be home later. Boo Hoo" Your boy will AOK!!!!

What to do with 2 Dominant Bitches? HELP!
xavierandrea replied to xavierandrea's topic in Everything about dogs
Please remember that Patti and Free were best friends. They shared everything. They were peas in a pod. Until recently. When Free was spayed she had complications so I am little scared but I know that is not an excuse for not spaying. I do intend on spaying Patti once Free is all better. I rather not talk about Free's complications because it makes me very upset and sad :( . I do have them seperate now because of this. I do not want to rehome any one of them. I want to exhaust all methods of working this out. I am planning on calling Free's trainer and see what else I can do. Her trainer is awesome and has 5 bitches and 4 males in her home. -
OK. Here goes.. Patti and Free were like best friends until all of a sudden they can't stand one another. Patti is growling every time Free goes near Asim or her. Patti growls when Free is playing with Asim. Free will step up to Patti and a dog fight is on. Neither one will back down. We ( us humans ) need to break the fight up. I do not like this one bit!!!!! Asim is split in the middle. Also it looks as if he helps the girls out when one is down, and tries to break up the fight. Example Free falls he goes after Patti. If Patti falls he goes after Free. The other day he had Patti by her bum and completly dragged her across the room to get away from Free. ( He is only 84lbs and not even a year old. Patti is 120lbs and 4 years old. ) This is going on for over a month! Free is the only altered dog. Could Patti think that Free is planning on " taking " the man? Is Free fed up with Patti? Free was our 1st dog we got her as a puppy and then came Patti we adopted her last year? Is this sibling rivalry? :agrue: I don't know what to do. Yesterday after coming home from work I noticed BLOOD everywhere! On the walls, doors and floors. 1st I thought Asim got in the middle of the fight and now he is hurt. I checked him out and nothing. The I checked Free (76lbs) and nothing. Then Patti the largest dog,,,, she was bleeding everywhere! She was apparently bitten on the right side of her face. Blood was all over her. Her ear was also bitten. Free had traits of blood on her chin. I was so upset! :( I do not tolerate fighting! Should I let them solve their differences? Or should I now keep them seperate until they get along. Please help. My boyfriend is fed up and now thinks we have too many dogs! ( HINT HINT give one up :( ) I say no way! :x These are my babies :) ... PLEASE any type of suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ear Treatment recipe - website
xavierandrea replied to imported_Cassie's topic in Everything about dogs
I read somewhere I can't remember.... That female douce is good for cleaning a dogs ear and using female yeast infection creams in the ears to treat the infection. I honesly haven't tried it but a friend of mine did. She asked her vet and they said that it has the same ingrediants and the stuff the vet office sells. Her vet told her to use it. She did and her dogs recovered in half the time. She told me that her dogs are always getting infections in their ears. She swears by it now, BUT I can't bring myself to using it.. -
:klacz: Good Job!!!! What a great Doggy!!!!

:o I am having the same problem with my pup Asim. He used to eat like as if it was his last meal. Now he looks at it and walks away. He'll force himself to eat when the girls get to close to his bowl. We began adding canned dog food to add a little flavor. The first couple of meals he did good. Then he stopped again. I began mixing boiled white rice. Again he loved it then stopped. I honestly think he is a pickey eater. I now mix chicken with his food. He loves it but I bet it will not be for long before he stops again. The only thing that he hasn't given up on is salad. ( You should see him crunch on celery...) Go figure all my dogs love salad..... What is the doggie world coming to??

 .. WOW this is bringing back bad memories of what happened the other day to Free and a JERK on a bike also... It is so dissapointing that people can be so ignorant towards animals... What a jerk...

Thanks guys for listening to me. Boy was I upset yesterday. Free is doing fine. Thank Goodness I was scared she would be hurting this morning. I am going to talk to my tenant and explain what happened last night. As an owner I can ban a guest if I feel the person can cause harm to the residents, property or animals residing here. ( I looked over the leases to make sure. ) I have a right to protect what is mine but in the same breathe my tenants have a right to visitors..... I do have a fenced yard... That is why we let our dogs roam the yard. OH BOY.. I'm begining to get mad all over because I'm thinking of what happened to Free  ...... I'm sure glad I did the right thing... Thanks everyone... :D

:confused1: Ok here is the situation. This is kind of long so thanks for listening. It was the time to take my dogs outside to go potty. ( Around 9pm) I called my middle dog Free to come outside and she followed me as usual. We have our dogs trained to go to their spot out back around the house without their leash. We stay by their side so they don't get into any trouble. When their done they run to the door to be let back in. Well as Free and I were back there she must have heard something and started walking towards the driveway. Well there was a visitor for one of my tenants walking his bike up the driveway. I immediatly yelled to the guy to keep his bike still because Free doesn't likes bikes. ( As a matter of fact Free hates anything with wheels except for cars.) Free walks over to him to smell him and see what he is all about. The guy then picks up his front tire and starts swinging at Free. Well Free doesn't like it and starts to bark at him. I again told the guy keep your bike still because my dog doesn't likes bikes. Please keep it still. I call over Free and she starts to come towards me until the guy takes a swing at her and hits her with his $@#%$ bike and she tumbles to the groud. Well Free is now angry as anyone would be. She turns around and starts barking and growling. The guy continues to hit her and I am telling him to stop it. Well I just about had it and I call her inside and she follows me. At that time my boyfriend was taking a nap so I ran to him and wake him up and explained what just happened. Well he is a very quite man and doesn't like confrontation but today was an exception. He asks where the guy is and I told him he just left. Well a few hours later Asim ( my youngest dog ) begins to bark and look out the window. I decided to look out and I see the same guy walking up my driveway again with his bike. I tell my boyfriend that the guy is back. He runs to the door and brings Free with him. He started asking the guy if he had a problem with the dog. Of coarse the guy denies he does. My boyfriend says I have one thing to tell you and that is " This dog lives here. It is her house. You do not live here. If you come over to visit someone you have no right to take a swing at our dog. She didn't start barking or growling until you hit her with your bike." Anyways to make this long story short the guy leaves the driveway saying " I love dogs. I would never hurt any dog or animal. " I was so mad because I know what I saw and what he did to her. Mind you my Free has Hip Dysplasia and Artritis. So that made me even more mad when she was hit on the back side and she tumbled over. What would you guys have done in this situation? It is your yard, your driveway and a stranger walks up, your dog goes over to sniff them and they hit your dog? Your dog gets angry and you bring her inside. Should I have done something different? Sorry this post is so long but I'm mad!!!

I am so proud of Patti. I while back I posted how Patti would not let us clip her nails. Everyone gave great advice!!!! THANK YOU AGAIN. Well this past weekend I decided to try once again to clip her nails. I had the can of treats next to me ready to give. I began massaging her back, then legs, then elbows and kept going until I reached her paw. Once I touched her paw I gave her a treat and said " Good girl. " Well much to my surprize she let me massage her paw. She did get restless a couple of times but the treats and rawhides helped out alot. I just kept giving her treats and clipped her nails. It took a very long time probally 45 minutes but I didn't mind. Her nails are not as short as I wanted them but I thought a little at a time until she is used to it. Right? I just wanted to share this with everyone. Thanks for listening. :multi: HURRAY FOR PATTI. I am going to try this every week until I can clip them with ease.

What Courtnek and Mei-Mei said are all true. We had to be very carefull with our dogs. When the 2 we bought were puppies they would try to race us to the kitchen or outside. This would be very frustrating. " Who can get to the door quicker? " In the dogs mind it would be them right? OH NO! We would turn around and go the other way. The dogs would be all confused. We also use the Sit and Stay command, then go to where we need to go then call them to us. There is alot of training that needs to be done. As I stated I have 2 Alphas and those 2 are still trying to race me to the doors. But I always wins. LOL. You must and I stress must have a strong hand when dealing with the Rottie or Dobbie. Rotties are stuborn. They are also very strong. My" Free " dragged me across the yard once. She even has Hip Dysplasia & arthritis. ( You couldn't it tell that day. ) I wasn't paying attention and the next thing I felt was a tug and away I went..... I laugh about it now, but I learned the hard way to keep my eyes on them at all times. A good trainer will help you.
