1. A friend of mine shows and breeds
Bullmastiffs and will be mating her dog next year
to a very handsome male whose Crufts qualified
and won at many shows.

If a breeder offers you a pup on breeders terms
what else is involved other than use the stud of
the breeders choice ?
Do you have to show your dog etc ?

Any info will be appreciated :D

2. Most dogs seem to enjoy eating fruit, whether it is a few mouthfuls of a piece of fruit that their owner is eating, the skins and cores of such fruit as apples or pears, or many that live near apple, plum or nectarine trees, grapevines or berry canes, seem to almost live on fruit that they pull off the trees themselves.

Fruit is a natural food that dogs in the wild would find and eat so there is nothing wrong with a dog eating fruit, within reason!

Any fruit eaten in excess could upset your dog's stomach and cause diarrhoea, cramps, gas, allergies, or severe gastrointestinal problems - in the same way as it can affect people who eat too much fruit.

For a young, healthy dog, a few "snacks" should be fine as long as your dog still has a normal stool. It can be difficult to stop a dog from over-indulging in windfall fruit that is constantly accessible. Many will enjoy fruit so much that they continue eating it, even though they develop diarrhoea.

If it becomes obvious that your dog is eating far too much fruit, the simple remedy is to keep windfall fruit off the ground or keep your dog away from the fruit trees until his/her stomach returns to normal, then restrict fruit eating to one or two pieces daily.

3. It seems Caeser has never seen a brush before if this is the way he is acting.....How old is he ?
Try talking while brushing him really gently.........trying not to allow him feel the bristles along his skin.....do it in tiny strokes and keep saying GOOD BOY to him so he knows it's ok to be brushed.
One of my dogs is 15 years old now and i find it difficult trying to brush him especially his face, but if you give Caeser time he should start to get used to and enjoy it more :)

Good Luck!

4.
:o Jill, Jill, Jill, I see your breed descriptions are STILL grossly inaccurate. You have not changed any of the blatent falsehoods that we brought to your attention the last time you were here.
I did notice with the Bullmastiff

6.
she doesn't tell me directly I want a dog!, but i know her and all you women there know how to say something without saying it
Well you see Izzy us woman are easy to please when it comes to wanting something we really want and we don't have to say a word to get it, DO WE GIRLS :D and himself gives in just like you
I wish you luck in finding your new pup

7. I am going to say this and once only.
Dogs should never ever be left alone in the room with children,
no matter what age and certainly not if the dog has an injury.
Dogs have feelings like us and they like to be left alone.
However I also don't agree on the dog being put to sleep.

8. I totally agree with pwrpufgirlz.
Not all breeders will have the stud dog available to see because many people like a friend of mine, use someone elses stud for there bitches, usually those who are doing well in the show ring.
So don't let that put you off, there are many good breeders out there who know there breed very well and who are willing to give you loads of free advice.

9. I have to say the Bullmastiff if its the correct type of course, they are so adorable looking.
This is Buster who a friend is going to have to stud her bitch next year.
We are going to have one of the pups from there second litter :D

10.
How about a Bullmastiff or an American Bulldog? Anyone with experience with these breeds? Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe.

I have experience with the Bullmastiff breed who are the most loving and gentlest with children, however with any dog they should never be left alone with children especially toddlers because a full grown Bullmastiff can easily knock over a small child without realising it.
They are a large powerful breed that do need a strong handler and should be socialized with other dogs and animals.
Puppy's should not have long walks until they are at least 12 months old because they are still growing, if over exercised with any large breed, they can be prone to hip dysplasia.....but at maturity they will take as much has you can give.
They are a stubborn breed at times and drool occasionally when they drink or get hot but a cloth always comes in handy for this.
Training is a must if you want a calm loving dog to just lie by your feet, they can be couch potatoes.
I have one at the moment, he is now 5 years old and he loves my daughter who is 1....she climbs all over him, they will tolerate anything.
Obviously you will have to introduce your children to the new puppy or dog.
The only problem with this breed is they are an indoor dog......they don't like the cold weather and have to be kept cool in summer.

11. I have had 7 to 10 year olds walking my dogs on a lead without a problem so i think your excuse is very lame and i do feel sorry for Lucky....maybe you will be more considerate next time with your other dog.
I lost my dog in the same way, back in my teenage years but it was a 50 year old who should have had the responsibility for making sure she was safe and he didn't so my dog ended up being killed.
It doesn't take much to put a leash on, i could also say that about the twat by me who lets his Staff run lose in the road.

12. OMG those poor dogs, they look absolutely nothing like they should do :x and what do they think this one is cause it sure isn't a Bullmastiff.....looks more like a Great Dane to me.
