Poetry:
Josie's Poem
I saw a dog standing on the hill
Thin and haggered, with little will.
The light in her eyes had lost it's glow
For love...she had never known.
Her pen was dirt and broken wire,
Her feet were bloody, her body tired.
Of all the dogs I saw that day
I remembered her as we walked away.
I called her Josie, her name remains
She's one of those that sticks in your brain.
Someday soon, if I have my way
She'll come with me and always stay.
To never go back to that terrible
place
The one no dog should ever face.
It's a place they call a puppymill
This is for Josie on the hill....
My love to you I send each day
I think of you and hope and pray.
That one day soon the court will say
I can return to take her away...
For Josie on the hill...
Jackie
